Speaker Johnson Rallies Across South Texas

October 13 2026

McALLEN, TX - Speaker Johnson rallied with voters in Corpus Christi and McAllen, TX today for Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15), Tano Tijerina (TX-28), Eric Flores (TX-34), and Carlos De La Cruz (TX-35) ahead of the midterm election on November 3rd. Congressmen Michael Cloud (TX-27) and Mark Harris (NC-08) also joined the Speaker at today's rallies.

"We’re going to do our duty in South Texas and we are going to do right by America. I know Texas isn’t going blue, and I know we aren’t going to elect these crazy candidates. We’re going to elect these good, God-fearing men and women to do the job," Speaker Johnson said in McAllen. "Everybody’s watching South Texas, and if we turn out the vote, we can win this. We can defy history. But when I tell you it’s going to be close, I mean it’s going to be very close. So that means everybody in your sphere of influence, family members, people at church, everywhere you go, they’ve got to vote. We cannot take it for granted."

Today's Texas campaign stops were part of Speaker Johnson's overall efforts across more than 40 districts and 20 states in the month leading up until Election Day.
