“Speaker Mike Johnson transferred $11.6 million in Q4 to the NRCC, House GOP incumbents, state parties and other entities aimed at helping Republicans keep their majority in 2026.

“Johnson announced the transfer at a House GOP conference meeting on Tuesday morning at the RNC. At a prior meeting in December, the speaker said he would transfer $6 million to those groups in Q4. But Johnson surpassed that number by a nearly 2:1 margin.

“With this latest transfer, Johnson will have given more than $20 million to the NRCC during 2025.

“Recruitment watch. NRCC Recruitment Chair Brian Jack also presented on their party’s crop of candidates.

“Eric Flores, an Army veteran and former federal prosecutor, joined the meeting and drew a round of applause when Jack introduced him, per sources in the room. Flores is in a crowded GOP primary to take on Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez in South Texas.

“Jack touted the five recruits who have been endorsed by both Johnson and President Donald Trump.

“That list includes Flores and:

— Former NFL kicker Jay Feely, who is running for GOP Rep. David Schweikert’s open battleground seat in Arizona.

— Former Gov. Paul LePage, who is running for retiring Democratic Rep. Jared Golden’s seat in rural Maine.

— Former Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln, who is challenging Democratic Rep. Adam Gray in California’s Central Valley.

— Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina, who is challenging Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar in South Texas.

“Johnson also urged members to reiterate their wins and stay on message in touting the OBBB.”
